Terms of service

By using datarekha.com, you agree to these terms. They're short on purpose.

The site

datarekha is a free, open-source tutorial site for data engineering, machine learning, and AI. You can read every lesson without signing in. Signing in adds cross-device sync, streak tracking, and access to the community activity feed.

Your account

You can sign in with a magic link sent to your email, or with Google. You're responsible for keeping your email account secure — anyone with access to it can sign into yours. You can delete your account any time by emailing us (see the privacy page).

Acceptable use

Please:

  • Don't attempt to break, abuse, or overload the site or its APIs.
  • Don't scrape the entire site for redistribution — it's free for individual learners, but bulk re-hosting deprives others of the canonical version. If you want to mirror or excerpt for a class, email us.
  • Don't impersonate others or post abusive content (when comments are enabled).
  • Don't use the in-browser playgrounds to attempt malicious code; they run only in your own browser, but we don't want to be associated with that activity.

We may suspend access if these are clearly violated.

Content

The lessons, designs, and code on this site are © datarekha unless otherwise noted. Example snippets that illustrate common industry patterns are not meant as proprietary. The source code powering the site is open source — see GitHub for the license.

Code you write in the playground belongs to you. It runs in your browser and never reaches our servers.

No warranty

We try to keep lessons correct and current, but software and best practices change. Code and explanations are provided as-is, without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. Use your judgment when applying anything you learn here to a real system.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, datarekha and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site. If you find a bug, an inaccuracy, or a security issue, please tell us at hello@datarekha.com.

Third-party services

The site relies on Vercel (hosting), Supabase (auth + database), and optionally Google (OAuth sign-in). Their terms apply to your interactions with them through the site.

Changes

We may update these terms when the site evolves. We'll update the "last updated" date at the top. If a change is material, we'll add a clear note. Continued use after a change counts as acceptance.
